Wireless Networking Resources

"Wireless Connectivity is very important for portable electronic devices. The technology has developed so well that small batteries, small flash storage and low power wireless is practical today. This makes Tablets and Wearable computer even closer to becoming the way computing will be done in the future.

The only bottleneck is that the mobile broadband still cannot manage that kind of data load at an affordable price. Something like the WiMax or Bell Labs' lightRadio Cube should take off and remove this Road Block.

We are now waiting for that Historic Invention that makes fiber-broadband and mobile-broadband converge to make the Digitally Connected World a Reality". - Aug 2014 delabs Notes

More of My notes

Set up your own Wi-fi Hotspots or WiMAX regions to enable broadband. One thing i strongly feel, my technical opinion only. A Gut feel that says that the Mobile type technologies like 3G or beyond are not built the way that a TCP-IP Network like Wi-Fi is. .....below

Nothing less than a Wi-Fi like Experience with same connectivity and costs, will work long term, to user satisfaction. Many Many users, Many Many Videos, Games, Video Conferencing, Downloads, Updates, Socials .. Think again.

WiMAX with Those small Cubes that Bell labs made may be just what we want - Alcatel-Lucent - lightRadio.

"Leveraging Bell Labs innovations in active antenna technology and advanced CPRI compression and partnerships with Freescale and HP, Alcatel-Lucent is first in the industry to announce products in this space."

Tizen was MeeGo who was Moblin or Mobile Linux

Moblin.org hosts the Mobile & Internet Linux Project which is an umbrella, open source project focused on the development of Linux for Intel-based devices.

( Tizen is the present status of this old post that has been deleted and redone many times as the name and website keeps changing. Now let us freeze this at Tizen - ananth)

Moblin - Mobile Linux Internet Project

"To this purpose, moblin.org will host various projects that will provide key elements of community-based projects such as Ubuntu Mobile and Embedded Edition, Red Flag Midinux, and Pepper Linux.."

The Samsung Smartwatch started with Android, now they have a Tizen version, this watch may be a good experimental hardware for Embedded Systems hackers to test out their own custom linux firmware !

If you haven't heard, in 2010 Moblin became MeeGo! MeeGo is an open source, Linux project which
brings together the Moblin project, headed up by Intel, and Maemo, by Nokia, into a single open source activity.

By now, you may have read that The Linux Foundation, with the support of several other companies, announced a new project, Tizen, to build a new operating system for devices. This new project is first and foremost open source, and based on Linux. So it begs the question: why not just evolve MeeGo? We believe the future belongs to HTML5-based applications,
